Project: The Redeemed Vocational and Fashion Design Institute

Location: Mendong, Yaoundé, CAMEROON.

Brief Summary

The country of Cameroon located in the central part of Africa is not immune to the problem of unemployed and underemployed youth in sub-Sahara Africa.  This stagnant job growth requires aggressive skills development and training, if economies are to be sustained.  Africa Missions North America, in collaboration with the Women in Ministry of the Redeemed Christian Church of God North America, has set up a vocational training center to train young ladies to sew and create fashion accessories for sustainable living.

Located in Mendong, in the capital city of Yaoundé, the Institute was commissioned on July 20, 2016.  Students enrolled at the Institute are instructed and trained by a seasoned fashion designer. The initial class size is ten (10) students and the small class size is designed to be manageable.

Cost: $17,047

Impact: This project is targeted to improve and impact education, youth development, women development and support the local church community. It has been a success as applications to join the program now exceeds the available spaces.
